“Jar…-ing”
Lately I like the idea of putting everything into jars. I like seeing them lining up on the kitchen counter and on shelves. I tend to think they make a statement and say a lot about someone’s kitchen. The ones I have are really cheap and simple, but I have this genius plan, that will make them into irresistibly cute.

Quote time
This quote is from one of my favorite books.
“The Bronze Horseman” by Paullina Simons.
When I first read it, back in high school, I could not fry an egg (or boil pasta)…Until I found out that you don’t really need someone to teach you how to cook. You need someone for whom you will want to cook for, and finally make you understand, that you had been knowing “how to” all along…”

Winner-Winner-Chicken-Dinner
This is something I cook very often. Well, not this one exactly, but similar combinations of fresh vegetables and meat. These ones I believe blend very well together, and I remember M.
Ingredients for 2 (duh)
I have come to discover that if you add the oil and spices at the same time in the frying pan, they will cook together and the spices will dissolve more easily. Once the oil is really hot, add the chicken ( which I prefer to slice in little cubes but you don’t have to) and let it cook until brown on the sides by constantly stirring. When you think it is done ( it takes me usually up to 15 min) move the chicken in the dish you are going to serve it in and then use the same frying pan for the veggies. Add a bit more oil again, and add the pepper and the mushrooms. Now, the trick here to make them all soft and yummy is to add one teaspoon of unsalted butter, 5 minutes before removing from fire. The difference it makes is incredible.
I add the finely chopped and perfectly done avocado on top of the vegetables and sprinkle it with lemon and salt. I could always put the avocado in another dish, or serve it as dish on its own…or maybe save it for dessert …ooohhh the things I could do with that perfectly green and beautiful avocado…But, that’s a story for another time.

“So-damn-cute”
It’s amazing how certain things that are so ridiculously simple to make, can have such a great impact. I made these santa’s for my little brother at New Year’s and he went absolutely nuts for them.
What you need (Practically, whatever you see in the pic)
Wash and dry the strawberries well. Cut the tops off, but leave them on and place them in the fridge. I suggest you prepare these last minute, right before serving. Personally, I prepared them a good two hours ahead and put them in the fridge, so thats why half of my Santas are so creepy…
Hope yours come out better and that they end up giving endless smiles to all the kinds in the room.
